The Border Patrol Command Center is an approximately 5,000 square foot addition to an existing facility. The primary purpose of this facility is the monitoring of cameras and other feed coming from the border. For the first part of the project I assisted the discipline lead with the creation of the Charrette documents for the initial client presentation/”Working Charrette.” My responsibilities included monitor sightline studies, human comfort/ergonomic studies, building mass and site placement studies, and the generation of several floor plans using the basic program provided. At the Charrette I was tasked with the creation of an entirely new building on the fly, all work was done in front of the client, in order to obtain the necessary feedback. Work done at the Charrette included floor plans, elevations, building sections, a 3D model with perspectives and a basic walk through. I was responsible for roughing in the furniture, the structure, and equipment for the other disciplines including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, telecomm, and fire protection.

After the Charrette I was tasked with the creation of a 65% construction document set. My responsibilities during this time included some project management, client meetings, coordination with the engineers, design of the exterior façade, and detailing of the entire building.
